Job summary

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) within the Maricopa County Community College District is hiring a Senior Student Services Analyst.

The role coordinates, administers, and implements career and transfer services within the Career and Educational Planning department while overseeing academic advising. Leads staff development and participates in committees to advance student success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of full-time equivalent progressively responsible student services experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating.
  • Equivalent combination of conferred degree and related work experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Operations and Staff Supervision (30%). Supervises and schedules staff, manages leave, evaluates performance, monitors budget, and ensures high customer service standards.
  • Career and Transfer Programming (30%). Develops and coordinates information sessions, fairs, workshops, and related activities; collaborates with faculty and partners.
  • Student Success Initiatives and Assessment (20%). Supports planning, implementation, assessment, and improvement of student success initiatives; analyzes data and reports results.
  • Staff Training and Professional Development (10%). Assesses training needs and facilitates onboarding and development.
  • Professional Engagement and Other Duties (10%). Participates in college and district meetings and committees; stays current on trends in career services and advising.

Job Summary

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a Student Services Analyst Senior. This position coordinates, administers, and implements career and transfer services within the Career and Educational Planning department while overseeing academic advising services. This position serves as a key resource for students and staff, providing direct services, operational planning, program management and evaluation, problem resolution, and technical assistance. This position provides leadership, supervision, and professional development for student workers and part-time, exempt, and non-exempt staff in the areas of career services, university transfer, and academic advising. Additionally, this position performs advanced operational assignments within Student Affairs and may serve on committees, task forces, and project teams.

To best serve the students, department, and college, this position is fully in-person.

Essential Functions

30% - Operations and Staff Supervision

Responsible for supervision and operations of the Career and Transfer Center and assigned academic advising services, as well as backup for the Welcome Desk. Responsibilities include staff scheduling, leave management, performance evaluations, budget monitoring, and maintaining high standards of customer service. Supervises and evaluates assigned staff to ensure accountability, productivity, and effective service delivery. Implements departmental goals and objectives, monitors progress toward outcomes, serves as a point of contact for student concerns, provides direct student and community services, and represents the department director as needed.

30% - Career and Transfer Programming

Develops, coordinates, and implements career and university transfer programs and events, including information sessions, fairs, workshops, and related activities. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and university partners to deliver programs that support college and district strategic goals. Delivers presentations and ensures the accuracy and relevance of marketing materials and website content.

20% - Student Success Initiatives and Assessment

Supports the planning, implementation, assessment, and continuous improvement of student success initiatives that promote student engagement, persistence, retention, completion, and transfer. Collaborates with campus stakeholders to align career development, educational planning, onboarding, proactive case management, and transfer pathways with college/district strategic priorities. Collects, analyzes, and interprets program data; prepares reports; evaluates program effectiveness; recommends process improvements; and participates on college committees and workgroups to advance student success outcomes.

10% - Staff Training and Professional Development

Assess training and professional development needs for assigned staff. Plans, coordinates, and facilitates training programs and professional development opportunities. Develops and maintains onboarding processes and resources for new team members.

10% - Professional Engagement and Other Duties

Participates in college and district meetings, committees, and professional development activities. Maintains current knowledge of trends and best practices in career services, university transfer, academic advising, and student affairs. Performs other duties as assigned, commensurate with the scope and grade level of the position.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of full-time equivalent progressively responsible student services experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications
  1. Master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Educational Leadership, Student Affairs, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Two (2) years of experience in academic advising and career services, or university transfer services, or a related student services area.
  3. Two (2) years of experience implementing and coordinating proactive advising case management in a college or university setting.
  4. Two (2) years of experience supervising staff, including student employees, part-time employees, and/or full-time employees.
  5. Two (2) years of experience developing, coordinating, and evaluating student success programs, workshops, events, or services.
  6. Experience collaborating with faculty, staff, employers, community organizations, and university partners to support student success initiatives.
  7. One year of full-time, relevant MCCCD experience within the previous two years.
Special Working Conditions
  1. Work hours are typically standard; however, some weekends and evenings may be required
  2. May be required to view a computer monitor for a prolonged period of time
