Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the position or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 6mo-1yr experience working in a higher education setting with campus programming and student activities.
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with standard office computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Advise and Develop Student Leaders—Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise student leaders for Hawkeye Service Breaks, Student United Way, and other service initiatives.
• Provide Student Engagement Advising—Guide students in connecting service and involvement experiences to personal, academic, leadership, and career development goals.
• Facilitate Leadership and Service Education—Design and deliver training programs focused on leadership, service-learning, active citizenship, reflection, teamwork, and community engagement.
• Lead Service-Based Programs and Events—Plan, implement, and evaluate Hawkeye Service Breaks, National Days of Service, volunteer recognition programs, and other campus-wide service initiatives.
• Manage Community Partnerships—Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations to create meaningful volunteer and service opportunities for students.
