Job summary

LewisGale Hospital Montgomery is seeking a Nurse Extern PRN to join the nursing team and gain hands-on experience in the registered nurse role. You will help deliver safe, compassionate care while developing skills for advanced responsibilities during your nursing program.

The position supports hands-on learning through ADL assistance, vital signs, and basic nursing tasks, under supervision, with emphasis on growth and patient safety. Benefits are available for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and monitor patients' comfort.
• Perform nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, and specimen collection as you gain experience.
• Document care accurately and communicate updates to the nursing team.
• Explain care plans to patients and families to support understanding and recovery.
• Maintain clean, safe patient areas by following infection prevention practices.
