SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital – Mount Vernon seeks a Student Nurse Extern to gain hands-on clinical experience in the Emergency Department, working under a dedicated preceptor and registered nurses. This PRN role supports patient care while you apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings and explore nursing specialties.

You will assist with basic nursing tasks, learn to respond to patient needs, and prepare for RN responsibilities as you pursue your nursing career.

Competenze

• Current enrollment in an accredited school of nursing and completion of first clinical rotation, or no more than 90-days post conferral date
• No experience required

Mansioni

• Performs patient care tasks under RN supervision based on nursing school competencies.
• Monitors vital signs, responds to calls for help, and assists with activities of daily living.
• Assists with dressing changes, catheter care, and other nursing procedures as directed.
• Documents care and communicates changes in patient condition to the team.
• Prepares patients for discharge and supports post-discharge instructions.
