Job summary

Mission Hospital in North Carolina is offering a PRN Nurse Extern opportunity within its nursing team. The role focuses on hands-on learning while delivering safe, compassionate patient care as you progress through your nursing program.

You will help with ADLs, vital signs, wound and catheter care, and coordinate with the nursing staff to support patient recovery and plan development. A strong emphasis is placed on infection prevention and patient safety.

Qualifications

• BCLS to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Currently enrolled and in good standing in a nursing program (accredited).
• NC (CNA) Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential care for patients by assisting with ADLs, monitoring vital signs, aiding mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene.
• Perform nursing tasks like wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures as you gain experience.
• Document care accurately and communicate timely updates with the nursing team to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Help patients and families understand care plans and provide guidance for recovery.
• Maintain clean and safe patient areas following infection prevention practices.
