Job summary

Mission Hospital is offering Nurse Extern PRN opportunities as part of the HCA Healthcare family. You will gain hands-on experience on the nursing team, supporting patient care and learning the full Registered Nurse scope under supervision.

You will assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, and participate in care planning while adhering to infection prevention practices. This role emphasizes growth, safety, and compassionate patient interactions.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of nursing school completed (state requirements may apply).
• Current NC CNA registry preferred or required by state practice rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), monitor vital signs, help with mobility and comfort.
• Perform basic nursing tasks such as wound and catheter care, specimen collection as experience grows.
• Document care accurately and communicate updates to the nursing team.
• Help patients and families understand care plans and follow infection prevention practices.
• Maintain clean, safe patient areas and participate in ongoing learning with your supervisor.
• Engage in growth opportunities and develop a personal career plan with your preceptor.
