Job summary

Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo is seeking an energetic recruitment and outreach professional for the School of Music. The role develops and executes strategies to recruit, admit and enroll students, and to advance engagement with external partners.

You will build relationships across university offices, create outreach programs and marketing materials, and support retention efforts to meet enrollment goals. Some travel and flexible hours required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
• One year’s relevant experience.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state.
• Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and oversees strategic plans to recruit students with an emphasis on recruitment and retention. Recommends admissions policies, procedures and outreach activities.
• Builds and maintains relationships with other University offices, departments and external stakeholders to represent programs and departments at various college outreach events.
• Develops and implements outreach programs, including marketing strategies and maintaining marketing material such as the website in order to promote programs and activities that are consistent with enrollment goals.
• Assists in student retention by developing and implementing retention strategies and mentoring to ensure successful completion of programs.
• Assesses enrollment and retention trends and results. Collaborates with the department to set goals and develop strategies to meet goals and objectives.
