Job summary

Santa Barbara City College is seeking staff under supervision to provide outreach and support for an assigned student services program, assisting students with enrollment, eligibility, and completing required forms; monitor attendance and progress toward goals.

You will coordinate with students, families and the community, conduct workshops and campus tours, maintain data in Starfish and other systems, and help students transition after goals are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with major coursework in sociology, social work, psychology or related field is preferred.
• Experience supporting secondary and post-secondary students in an educational setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of student guidance principles and practices is desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide outreach and support services for assigned student services program, including admissions and enrollment.
• Assist participants with obtaining and maintaining enrollment; interview and refer enrollees.
• Monitor attendance, goals and progress; develop individual goals with students.
• Coordinate information exchange with students, parents, staff and the community.
