Job summary

The University of La Verne invites applications for a Marketing and Communications Student Photographer to support recruitment and enrollment materials. The role involves planning, setting up, capturing, and editing photos at events on and off campus under senior supervision.

You'll handle image files, color correction in Photoshop and InDesign, manage a campus photo archive, and contribute to web and social media visuals while upholding the university's identity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in progress in photography, fine arts, videography, communications, journalism or related field, with expertise in still photography, commercial photography, photojournalism, studio photography, videography and/or digital editing a plus.
• Experience with digital assets management systems and techniques; working knowledge of formatting images and videos for the web and social media.
• Strong proficiency in the use of industry standard image and editing software including Adobe InDesign and Photoshop; proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Capture clear, dynamic photos of students, faculty and staff at recruitment and enrollment events for marketing materials; ensure photos convey energy and align with the university's visual identity.
• Use high-resolution camera equipment to produce crisp images with good lighting and focus.
• Assist with photography and video production as needed; capture behind-the-scenes footage.
• Manipulate, color-correct and edit photographs in Photoshop and InDesign; produce print-ready and web-ready files.
• Deliver raw files and selects to the MarComm department post-event for social media and recaps.
