Job summary

The California State University, Stanislaus is seeking a Sociology, Gerontology & Gender Studies Department Student Assistant under Federal Work Study. The position supports front-desk duties, document handling, and general office tasks on-site in Turlock.

Eligibility requires enrollment in at least six Fall/Spring units and an active Financial Aid award for the current term. Starts on or after Sept 1, 2026 and ends by May 21, 2026, with possible reappointment based on budget and performance.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of six Fall/Spring units.
• Must have received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year.

Responsibilities

• Greeting visitors, scanning, archiving records, and photocopying.
• Answering telephone for the Sociology Dept.
• Mail pickup and delivery.
• Assist in administrative tasks assigned by the ASC and Dept. Chair.
• Coordinate weekly work schedule and submit timesheet hours for monthly approval.
• Provide in-person support for walk-ins and direct inquiries to faculty/staff.
• Maintain office supplies and basic tech troubleshooting (printers, computers, copier).
• Other duties as assigned.
