The Patient Care Technician (PCT) at MUSC supports a decentralized patient-centered approach under supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will measure and document vital signs, identify patient concerns, assist with daily living activities, and help with basic treatments to support the care team.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, BLS on hire, and ideally one year of patient care experience.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of patient care experience preferred.
• Must be enrolled in a nursing program and have completed Fundamentals of Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire and maintained.

Responsabilidades

• Keep patient rooms tidy and sanitized.
• Assist patients with daily needs (hygiene, bathroom, grooming).
• Monitor vital signs and report patient changes.
• Assist nursing staff with basic treatments.
• Ensure adequate patient care supplies and clean linen.
• Provide emotional support and effective communication with care team.
• Assist with drains, ostomies, Foley, and blood sugar checks.
• Support department leadership with assigned tasks.
