Job summary

UH Samaritan Medical Center offers Student Nurses opportunities on Med/surg, ICU, and Float Pool. Under RN supervision, NA IIs provide safe, age-specific care to patients and families to help maintain or regain health status.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, vital signs, and documentation of interventions. This pathway emphasizes hands-on practice, learning, and professional growth, with a clear pathway to RN positions after graduation, supported by a teamwork-oriented staff and EMR

Responsibilities

What can I do as a NAII?

NA IIs work under the direction of an RN to provide safe, efficient, age-specific care to patients and families to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and/or sustain optimal health status. Responsibilities include:

• Direct patient care delivery, including, but not limited to:
  • ADLs/hygiene, Vital signs, I&O, Bladder scanning, EKG, Glucometer & other point of care testing (where applicable) and Restraints
  • Communication and documentation of interventions and observations
  • Participation in quality improvement process
  • Involved in learning and self-improvement
  • Initiates and maintains a positive relationship with patients/customers and coworkers
