Job summary

UH Samaritan Medical Center is seeking a Student Nurse (NAII) who will work under the supervision of an RN to provide safe, age-specific patient care across med/surg, ICU, and float pool units. Responsibilities include direct care, vital signs, I&O, documentation, and teamwork in a supportive environment.

The position emphasizes learning, quality improvement involvement, and pathways toRN roles after graduation, with a culture focused on education and clinical skill development.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Diploma RN, Associate or bachelor’s degree of Nursing from an accredited program.
• Successful completion of a Registered Nursing Fundamentals course required.
• Most up-to-date transcripts should be uploaded with application to clarify qualification during screening.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care delivery including ADLs, hygiene, vital signs, I&O, Bladder scanning, EKG, Glucometer, and related tests.
• Communication and documentation of interventions and observations.
• Participation in quality improvement processes.
• Involvement in learning and self-improvement.
• Initiates and maintains a positive relationship with patients, customers, and coworkers.

NA IIs work under the direction of an RN to provide safe, efficient, age-specific care to patients and families to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and/or sustain optimal health status. Responsibilities include:

• Direct patient care delivery, including, but not limited to:
  • ADLs/hygiene, Vital signs, I&O, Bladder scanning, EKG, Glucometer & other point of care testing (where applicable) and Restraints
  • Communication and documentation of interventions and observations
  • Participation in quality improvement process
