Job summary

Kaweah Health in Visalia, CA is seeking a Student Nurse Intern (SNI) to support RN staff on the 4N unit during nursing program terms, under direct supervision.

This role involves bedside care assistance, participation in care planning with the RN, maintaining a validated Skills Checklist, documenting in the EMR, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Enrollment in an accredited RN program (ASN BSN tracks) and transcripts are required; BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an accredited RN program with progress to required semesters.
• Submission of updated transcripts to HR each term.
• Participation in an approved Work Study Program or Kaweah Health employment with nursing program eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with patient/family and other health care providers.
• Formulates plan of care with RN and involves patient in care decisions.
• Maintains Skills Checklist with school of Nursing and KH preceptor.
• Under supervision of KH RN preceptor, performs basic bedside care and selected nursing procedures.
• Documents all care provided in the EMR promptly and accurately.
• Assists with admission, transfer and discharge processes and ensures patient comfort.
