Job summary

Kaweah Health in Visalia, CA is seeking a Student Nurse Intern to support the nursing team in delivering holistic patient care in the Acute Psychiatry unit. The role operates under RN supervision, participating in care planning with patients and families while developing clinical skills within the school program.

The SNI must be enrolled in an accredited RN program (ASN or BSN) and maintain required certifications.

Qualifications

• BLS certification preferred.
• ASN: Enrollment in an accredited RN program with completion of 3rd semester.
• BSN: Enrollment in an accredited RN program with completion of 4th semester.
• Employee must submit updated transcripts to HR each term and notify changes in nursing program enrollment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the RN to formulate the plan of care and involve patient/family in decisions.
• Performs basic bedside care under RN supervision and guidance.
• Documents all care provided in the EMR as soon after care as possible.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge activities and maintains safety standards.
