Job summary

Kaweah Health in Visalia, CA is seeking a Student Nurse Intern to support the acute psychiatry unit. Under the direct supervision of the RN, you will participate in the plan of care, perform basic bedside tasks, and assist with patient needs and documentation, while ensuring patient safety and quality care.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an accredited RN program (ASN or BSN) with BLS, and current or preferred CA CNA certification.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.
• Enrollment in an accredited RN program with completion of 3rd semester (ASN).
• Enrollment in RN program with completion of 4th semester (BSN).
• Current CA Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates and communicates with patient, family, and health care team.
• Assists with plan of care under RN supervision.
• Performs basic bedside care under RN supervision.
• Documents care and vital signs in EMR.
• Supports admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Maintains confidentiality and participates in safety and infection control.
• Respects ANA Code of Ethics; handles skills checklist.

Education

BLS

ASN: Enrollment in RN program (3rd semester)

BSN: Enrollment in RN program (4th semester)

CA CNA certification (preferred)
