Job summary

City of Philadelphia’s Mayor’s Office of Education seeks a Student Loan Education Officer to advance the One Philly Education Debt Navigator Initiative. You will deliver borrower education, assist with repayment and forgiveness programs, and maintain case records in a collaborative, results-driven team environment.

You will coordinate with EDNAV staff, CCME Fellows and community partners to improve service quality, report metrics, and expand outreach to diverse audiences across Philadelphia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant advanced degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two to four years of experience in counseling, outreach, or education-related roles.
• Experience with student loans or personal finance is preferred.
• Experience conducting in-person and virtual outreach, training, and presentations is preferred.
• Experience supervising or mentoring is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored information and resources to student loan borrowers based on individual circumstances.
• Assist borrowers with applications for relief through cancellation, forgiveness, discharge, and repayment plan enrollment.
• Help borrowers navigate default, rehabilitation and delinquent options.
• Maintain thorough case records documenting services and referrals; report program trends and outcomes.
• Oversee the Student Loan Hub resources and content for accuracy and up-to-date information.
• Conduct outreach and deliver trainings to City employees, residents, employers and partners.
