The purpose of the Office of Student Involvement is to work with students to provide meaningful learning opportunities through programs, activities, and leadership development initiatives that connect students with the campus community and enhance their college experience.

Department‑Specific Responsibilities
- Advise and guide 3 University Student Organizations (USO) regarding operations, budget, leadership, events/activities, recruitment, annual compliance (i.e. re‑registration), university policies, and risk management.
- Collaborates with the Assistant Program Director to create and implement on‑going leadership development training for student organization leaders.
- Assist affinity‑based student organizations with the coordination and execution of campus‑wide events/initiatives; recruit and manage planning committees as needed.
- Establish and/or strengthen collaborative relationships with student organizations and key stakeholders that also intentionally connects university wide initiatives, co‑curricular learning/programming, and affinity‑based student organizations when appropriate.
- Work with the Assistant Program Director to guide the planning and implementation of communications, marketing plans, and outreach efforts for student life initiatives facilitated/hosted by each USO within area of operation.
- Provide fiscal oversight, with support from the Assistant Program Director, to budgets associated with programming and general operations of each USO within area of operation.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and growth‑oriented environment within the USOs advised, by modeling professional communication and accountability.
- Serve as an accessibility point of contact for officers and members seeking academic, personal, or professional support and connect them with the appropriate campus resource.
- Measure and evaluate effectiveness of student life initiatives against projected outcomes, gather satisfaction feedback from student participants.
- Assist the Assistant Program Director and Associate Director with assessment and data collection.
- Complete other related duties to support the unit as assigned.
General Responsibilities
- Develop and implement programs and initiatives geared at improving student engagement and involvement outcomes at the program, department/division, or campus level.
- Interface directly with students, attending student life events and programs and gathering satisfaction feedback from student participants to implement into future student life initiatives and objectives.
- Collaborate with staff in own department and other departments, as well as student organization leaders, on shared student life goals, often coordinating funding to sponsor student life initiatives.
- Measure and evaluate effectiveness of student life initiatives against projected outcomes; prepare reports and may present to stakeholders on effectiveness and to secure funding for initiatives moving forward.
- Provide guidance to student organizations regarding operations, budget, leadership, activities, recruitment, registration, policies, and compliance.
- Promote leadership and student development through advising of individual student leaders and volunteers.
- Contribute to the formation, interpretation, and implementation of student organization policies.

EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's degree in public affairs, public health, counseling, social work, education, business, or a related field.
Preferred

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
