Job summary

University of Iowa is seeking a Student Life Program Specialist for the UI REACH program. The role focuses on supervising RAs and providing student support in campus engagement, advising, independent living, and classroom instruction.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting persons with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and/or learning disabilities in college settings, workplaces, or communities.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with internal and external partners.
• Proficiency in computer software applications and data/documentation management.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, student-centered support to UI REACH students.
• Mentor, coach, or instruct students in various settings for independence and academic success.
• Help students develop skills for independence, growth, and workplace readiness.
• Participate in on-call duty rotation during evenings/weekends.
• Maintain case notes, progress records, and required documentation in the designated platform.
• Collaborate with colleagues and partners to coordinate effective student support.
• Manage the UI REACH Resident Assistant team including hiring, onboarding, and training.
