Job summary

Great Basin College in Elko, NV seeks a Student Life Coordinator to design and run a comprehensive engagement program that supports student success, belonging, and leadership. The role collaborates with faculty and campus partners to nurture campus culture across all sites and online.

The coordinator advises SGA, develops leadership opportunities, and manages budgets for Student Life and associated programs. Travel within Nevada is required, with occasional overnight stays as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Education, Communications, Business or related field.
• Bachelor or Master in Higher Education, Student Affairs or related field preferred.
• Experience with diverse student populations and campus programming.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates educational, cultural, social, civic, recreational, wellness, and community programming.
• Ensures engagement opportunities across campuses and modalities for diverse student groups.
• Advises SGA and develops student leadership through training and events.
• Supports student organizations with recognition, coaching, events, and policy guidance.
• Coordinates signature events and campus traditions, including Welcome Week and celebrations.
• Promotes Student Life via social media, newsletters, and campus websites.
• Oversee budgets for Student Life and SGA funding; supervise student employees.
• Collects engagement data, prepares annual reports, and suggests improvements.
• Participates in college-wide committees and may travel within Nevada.
