Job summary

Great Basin College in Elko, NV is seeking a Recruiter to serve as the single point of contact for prospective students, guiding them through admissions and helping navigate GBC programs, degrees, certificates and services. The role requires travel across Nevada and possibly nearby states, with evenings and weekends as needed.

You will engage with high schools, parents, counselors, faculty and industry partners, delivering campus tours and presentations to raise awareness and boost enrollment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with at least 1 year of related professional experience.
• Solid understanding of higher education, its value, and the importance of degrees and certificates.
• Excellent written and oral communication and listening skills, able to interact with diverse populations.
• Knowledge of recruitment processes and strong organizational skills preferred.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, creative, able to multi-task and work under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Collegiality and flexibility to work as part of a team.
• Extensive travel required; evenings and weekends may be necessary.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the single point of contact for traditional and non-traditional prospective students and assist with admissions.
• Act as liaison between prospective students, parents, high schools, community and industry groups, and GBC staff.
• Develop a recruitment plan for service area to meet target goals.
• Participate in college and career fairs and outreach events with professional conduct.
• Provide campus tours and information sessions to prospective students and groups.
• Collect contact information and follow up with inquiries.
• Respond to recruitment emails and phone messages promptly.
• Engage via GBC CRM and coordinate marketing outreach with Communications.
• Assist in maintaining recruitment emails, webpage, and social media pages.
• Support Financial Aid events at high schools and community centers.
• Collaborate with student services, faculty and staff to showcase available resources.
• Provide general advising on schedules, programs, financial aid, career resources and student life.
• Handle sensitive issues professionally and maintain confidentiality.
• Be prepared to travel and work weekends/evenings with flexible hours.
• Participate in faculty senate and other committees as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
