Job summary

Great Basin College in Elko, NV seeks a Coordinator of Housing and Student Engagement to lead campus housing operations and residential life. You will supervise Resident Assistants, coordinate with Facilities, manage budgets, and partner with Advising, Counseling, and Admissions to promote student success.

The role demands strong communication, judgment, and the ability to work evenings/weekends in a student-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field
• At least 1 year of professional or graduate assistant experience in residence life or related area
• Experience working with college students in student support, customer service, or residential environment
• Commitment to student success, engagement, and inclusive residential community
• Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration of campus housing including assignments, occupancy, contracts, resident communications, and daily housing operations
• Lead residential life initiatives that promote student engagement, academic success, wellness, leadership development, and community building
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate Resident Assistants and student employees
• Respond to student conduct concerns, emergencies, and crisis situations while on-call rotation
• Coordinate with Facilities Management for maintenance, renovations, and long-range housing improvements
• Develop and administer the housing operating budget
• Collaborate with Academic Advising, Financial Aid, Counseling and Accessibility Services, the Academic Success Center, Recruitment and Admissions, faculty, and other campus departments to support resident success
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulations related to student housing
• Assess housing operations and programming for continuous improvement
• Perform other duties as assigned
