Job summary

Quinnipiac University’s Arnold Bernhard Library seeks a Circulation Services Student Assistant to support daily desk operations and user service.

You will help patrons, handle check-ins/outs, process new materials, and maintain shelves. Training is provided, and you must be able to move books and work Sunday evenings.

This Federal Work Study position requires reliable, friendly communication and basic computer skills; hours include Sundays 8 pm–midnight with additional evenings as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills and courteous demeanor.
• Dependable, able to follow directions and work independently.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office, typing, and filing.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons at Circulation/Reserve Desk within scope of knowledge.
• Answer telephone and assist with inquiries.
• Check books/materials in and out of library system.
• Labeling and processing newly acquired materials.
• Shelving and stacking maintenance; inventory tasks.
• Other duties as assigned; training provided.
