Job summary

Harrisburg University of Science and Technology Library is seeking a Student Library Assistant to provide frontline patron support, assist library staff with daily operations, and participate in events and special projects.

The role is on-site, requires a current HU student, and a minimum of 8 hours per week on a consistent schedule. You will help maintain collection accessibility and contribute student perspectives to library planning.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled Harrisburg University student in good academic standing.
• Available to work on site for a minimum of 8 hours per week on a consistent schedule.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist library patrons by answering questions and providing referrals, directions, and instructions.
• Process interlibrary loan (ILL) requests accurately and in a timely manner.
• Research requests for books and other materials for patrons and staff.
• Assist with lending services, including shelf checks, reshelving returned materials, and inventory checks.
• Maintain organization of physical and digital resources per library procedures.
• Assist with planning, setup, and marketing for library events and activities.
