Entergy Mississippi, LLC is seeking a Co-op Student in engineering to gain hands-on experience across electrical, mechanical, and civil projects in the utility sector. You will collaborate with engineers and engineering associates on a variety of projects while performing tasks under supervision.

This internship involves designing distribution facilities, conducting studies, and supporting outage restoration efforts.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled full-time in a bachelor’s degree (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil).
  • Sophomore year or beyond; GPA 2.8 or higher (4.0 scale).

Responsibilities

  • Interface with external customers to provide electric service.
  • Design electric distribution facilities and perform engineering studies.
  • Work as part of a cross-functional team to meet customer needs.
  • Assist in outage restoration efforts as needed.
  • Work approximately 50% in office and 50% out of office, year-round.
  • Duties may expand with tenure and are directed by management.

Job Description
  • Interface with external Customers to provide electric service.
  • Design electric distribution facilities and perform various engineering studies using computer based systems.
  • Work as part of a cross-function Team to meet the needs of Customers.
  • Assist in outage restoration efforts as needed.
  • Work is approximately 50% in office and 50% out of office, year around.
  • Work assignment complexity and responsibility grows with tenure of student employees.
  • Performs other duties as directed by management.
Education Requirements
  • Seeking Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil engineering majors to work full time during the designated semesters.
  • Must be currently enrolled in school full-time, pursuing a bachelor's degree as indicated above, and enrolled in sophomore year or beyond.
  • Cumulative GPA 2.8 or above is required (on a 4.0 scale).
Job Requirements
  • Computer skills-- familiar with various databases, as well as Windows environment and Microsoft toolkit (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must have good communication and Customer Service skills.
Work Conditions

Office and Field work. Some situations might require ability to work in adverse climate conditions and physical nature of work may require walking long distances in uneven off-road environments. Some travel may be necessary.
