Job summary

Entergy Mississippi, LLC is seeking a Co-op Student to gain experience in practical engineering applications within the utility industry, working with engineers and associates on a variety of projects and interfacing with customers to provide electric service.

This role is approximately 50% office and 50% field, focusing on design of electric distribution facilities, engineering studies using computer-based systems, and collaboration with a cross-functional team to meet customer needs while

Qualifications

  • Seeking Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering majors to work a full-time schedule during designated semesters.
  • Must be currently enrolled in school full-time pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • GPA of 2.8 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).

Responsibilities

  • Interface with external Customers to provide electric service.
  • Design electric distribution facilities and perform engineering studies using computer based systems.
  • Work as part of a cross-functional Team to meet the needs of Customers.
  • Assist in outage restoration efforts as needed.
  • Work is approximately 50% in office and 50% out of office, year around.
  • Work assignment complexity and responsibility grows with tenure of student employees.
  • Performs other duties as directed by management.

  • Must be currently enrolled in school full-time, pursuing a bachelor’s degree as indicated above.
  • Preferred: Sophmore classification at minimum.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher is required (on a 4.0 scale).
Job Requirements
  • Computer skills–- familiar with various databases, as well as Windows environment and Microsoft toolkit (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must have good communication and customer service skills.
