Job summary

American University seeks Inclusive Excellence Ambassadors (student role) for the 2026–2027 academic year. Work 5–10 hours weekly, earning $18.40/hour, with eligibility for Federal Work Study.

Ambassadors promote the Office of Inclusive Excellence through outreach, events, and communications, and serve as the public-facing representatives of the Office. Responsibilities include tabling, classroom and student org presentations, event support, and developing accessible outreach materials.

Qualifications

  • Active Federal Work Study (FWS) award required.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Interest in student engagement, campus leadership, outreach, marketing, or event planning.
  • Public speaking confidence or willingness to develop presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Outreach & student engagement through tabling, presentations, and campus involvement.
  • Assist with communications, social media campaigns, and promotional materials.
  • Support planning and coordination of workshops, events, and campus initiatives.
  • Conduct research to inform programs, outreach strategies, and engagement opportunities.
  • Attend team meetings and collaborate with peers and staff.
