Job summary

Wiley University is seeking an Area Coordinator for its student housing operation in Marshall, TX. The role manages a community serving 72 to 500 residents and reports to the Director for Residence Life.

You will supervise undergraduate staff, prepare detailed facility reports, mediate conflicts, and support conduct processes and campus-wide training. Responsibilities include coordinating educational and social programs, assisting with staff recruitment and training, and maintaining building

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum two years’ experience in student affairs preferred.
• Experience supervising residential life staff is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operation of assigned residential communities and provide crisis intervention.
• Oversee paraprofessional staff (Community Assistants) and assist with recruitment and training.
• Plan and present educational, developmental, and social programs with staff.
• Support residents and resolve conflicts; assist with housing conduct cases.
• Participate in on‑duty rotations and ensure building safety and security.
• Coordinate liaison with maintenance, custodial, and other university services.
• Engage in university, divisional and departmental committee work and support retention/recruitment efforts.
• Maintain shifts: 8am–5pm, 4pm–12am, 11pm–7am; weekends daytime and overnight.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Residential Life and Housing Services.
