Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to assist in the school health room under the supervision of the nurse and building principal. The role includes first aid, medication administration, health screenings, and maintaining health records.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with additional qualifications such as an AA degree or college credits, or completion of the paraeducator assessment test. This is a year-round school-based position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• And one of: AA degree, OR 48 college-level credits or 72 college-level credits, OR pass the state approved paraeducator assessment test.

Responsibilities

• Help administer first aid to ill and injured students.
• Dispense student medications as directed.
• Assist with health screening programs, organize screening days.
• Determine notification needs (parents/911/principal) before treatment/release.
• Maintain health room logs and documentation (folders, medication log, screening results, accident reports).
• Practice safety and security within work routines.
