Job summary

University of Nevada, Reno seeks student employees to support the fire extinguisher maintenance program within the Facilities Maintenance Services Department. You will assist with inspections, transport extinguishers on campus, and help identify locations using floor plans.

Hours are 7:00 am–3:30 pm, Monday–Friday, with up to 25 hours per week during the semester and up to 40 hours during breaks. Requires a valid Class C driver’s license and pre-employment checks.

• Must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno.
• Candidate must be dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Fire Extinguisher Technician with maintenance and inspection activities.
• Ride in the service vehicle with the technician while traveling to campus locations.
• Retrieve fire extinguishers from campus buildings and transport them to the service truck or maintenance area.
• Return serviced extinguishers to their correct locations.
• Read and interpret building floor plans to identify extinguisher locations.
