Job summary

Pellissippi State Community College seeks a detail‑oriented Student Account Services Specialist to provide excellent customer service to students and other parties regarding account balances. You will accurately process and receipting payments, maintain refund forms, and administer scholarship and VA benefit postings in accordance with policy and state regulations.

The role involves extensive data entry, daily deposits, and frequent interaction with students, staff, and external agencies.

Qualifications

• This job requires a high school diploma or equivalent with three years office experience, or an associate’s degree with one year office experience.
• Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience.

Responsibilities

• Receipt payments and posting using Banner or Touchnet, data entry, and customer service in person, by phone, and via email.
• Review VA benefits deposits and postings, coordinate with VA official, and ensure proper refunds.
• Verify scholarship awards and process payments to student accounts, reconcile to reports, and communicate with staff and external agencies.
• Assist with accounts receivable processes, including collections and payment agreements.
• Prepare daily cash reports, audit documents, and maintain records for audit.
