Job summary

Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI, seeks a Financial Aid Specialist to lead literacy and access efforts by developing resources, materials, and workshops.

The role builds webpages for scholarship opportunities, creates educational content, and coordinates peer mentoring to assist students with financing their education.

This is a full-time, 12-month, benefit-eligible grant-funded position with an anticipated five-year duration, contingent on continued funding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Financial aid experience is preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, technological, and creative skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop a program and space for students to come with questions about student loans, budgeting, scholarships, and options to pay their student bill.
• Develop and maintain a webpage dedicated to outside scholarship opportunities and promote those options to our students.
• Create educational materials, facilitate workshops and scholarship seminars.
• Support the effective utilization of campus-based employment opportunities.
• Provide professional development and training to financial aid staff to strengthen student-centered service practices.
• Hire and supervise 4 peer mentors to assist with these responsibilities (10 hours a week for each peer mentor).
• Other financial aid or related duties assigned by the Director of Financial Aid.
