Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Program Coordinator in Student Financial Aid to manage the certification of financial aid eligibility, verify documents and award aid for undergraduate, graduate and professional students, while coordinating workflows with the Strategic Enrollment team.

The role involves training new staff, ensuring quality standards and confidentiality, and supporting policies and procedures across Eligibility Analysis and Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Four (4) years of relevant experience required; Successful completion of a background and credit check.
• Advanced degree may be desirable; Four to eight (4-8) years of relevant experience preferred; Knowledge of federal, state, and university financial aid programs; Familiarity with financial aid processing systems and research tools; Proficiency in MS Office; strong problem solving and communication skills; supervisory/management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the certification of financial aid eligibility and awarding of aid for undergraduate, graduate and professional students; supervise daily workflow in collaboration with the management team; coordinate workflows for SAP, special circumstances appeals, R2T4 and consortiums; prioritize work during peak processing times including various loan programs.
• Train new staff after completion of the SFA training program; ensure staff learn processes and procedures for Eligibility Analysis and Operations; monitor quality and ensure standards are met.
• Provide information, processing and training services to SFA staff; assist in creating and implementing policies and procedures; maintain confidentiality of sensitive documents; participate in meetings and perform assigned duties.
