Marian University seeks a Financial Aid Counselor/Advisor to support students by counseling them on the financial aid process, analyzing need, and educating families about aid options to recruit and retain qualified students.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience in a college admission and/or work environment.
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Ability to travel and work with students in rural, urban, and metropolitan areas.
Ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and register with the University as an authorized driver.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and web tools.

Responsibilities

Counsel prospective and current students and families through the financial aid process.
Educate on availability, application process, eligibility requirements, and types of financial aid.
Coordinate and prepare financial aid forms and publications with admissions recruitment.
Verify aid for freshman and transfer students; award aid per policies.
Maintain confidentiality and security of records.
Represent the office at on-campus events and trainings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
