Job summary

Pima Medical Institute in Houston, TX is seeking a Student Finance Officer to support students with financial aid, Title IV packaging, and compliance at the Houston campus. You will provide transparent counseling and help with FAFSA, verification, and coordinating with admissions to schedule financial aid appointments.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in financial aid or related customer service, proficiency with DOE systems and Microsoft Office, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial aid, student accounts, banking, or customer service-intensive operations.
• Must be eligible to maintain access to DOE systems (NSLDS, COD, FSA).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace; comfortable with data entry and database tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a student-focused service mindset.
• Equivalent combinations of training, education, or experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Interview prospective, current, and re-enrolling students to assess financial needs and determine aid eligibility.
• Assist students and families in completing FAFSA and other financial aid forms.
• Establish and manage structured private-pay plans for tuition balances.
• Counsel veteran students and ensure VA and SAA guidelines compliance.
• Track ISIRs and complete file verification for current and prospective students.
• Audit packaged student files for award letters, verification documents, and eligibility.
