Job summary

Pima Medical Institute in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a detail-oriented Student Finance Officer to guide students through the financial aid process, interview applicants, assess eligibility, and help with documentation.

The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service; responsibilities include aid packaging, VA benefits, DOE system access, and collaboration with Admissions to support students throughout funding.

Qualifications

• Three years of financial aid experience (Title IV knowledge preferred).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Department of Education (DOE) systems and financial aid documentation processes.

Responsibilities

• Interview prospective and continuing students to assess financial aid eligibility and needs.
• Assist students with completing financial aid paperwork and verifying ISIRs; package awards and obtain signatures.
• Counsel veteran students on VA benefits and ensure compliance with VA/State guidelines.
• Audit student files for Title IV verification and eligibility before class starts.
• Document payment plans and arrange private pay repayment schedules; contact former students to settle balances.
• Maintain DOE system access and track packaging dates, Pell/SEOG fund releases, and loan statuses.
• Coordinate with Admissions to notify and reschedule missed appointments.
• Ensure access to DOE systems is maintained and compliant.
