Job summary

International Education Corporation seeks a Student Awards Specialist to review student files, evaluate financial aid applications, and perform verification to determine Title IV funding eligibility. The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently with urgency in a compliant manner.

Responsibilities include reviewing files for completeness, posting award data, reconciling files, and certifying loans while maintaining knowledge of Title IV regulations.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a financial aid department of an accredited college or university with direct responsibility for processing Title IV activities, programs and funding preferred.
• Associate’s degree or comparable work experience required. Bachelor’s degree with coursework in math, business, finance, auditing or accounting preferred.
• Excellent customer service, oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel
• Ability to meet deadlines and execute multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Complies with all Federal, State, institutional policies and procedures.
• Understand and interpret Title IV regulations and ensure compliance with accrediting bodies and company targets.
• Review all student financial aid files for completeness, accuracy and verify requirements.
• Post award data into student operating system to ensure timely cash flow forecasts.
• Prepare file reconciliations for proper posting of Title IV funding.
• Calculates award eligibility and certifies federal and private student loans.
• Maintains knowledge of Title IV awarding and disbursing regulations.
• Maintains and coordinates awarding and student file reports.
• Ensure ethical documentation and recordkeeping meeting company and regulatory standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
