Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2–4 years of successful experience in a Financial Aid office or related education.
• Experience in student employment and Veterans’ benefits.

Responsibilities

• Advise students and parents by phone, email, or in person on financial aid programs and processing.
• Conduct file download, review, correction, awarding, and monitoring per regulations.
• Collaborate with Recruitment & Retention to conduct outreach activities for staff, students, and high schools.
• Determine SAP status and communicate requirements to students in a timely manner.
• Award and monitor Federal Work-Study and campus student employment.
• Coordinate scholarships and consortium agreements; liaise with the BMCC Foundation.
• Certify Veterans’ Educational benefits and monitor enrollment changes.
• Maintain FERPA compliance and prepare required reports on financial aid.
• Train and supervise financial aid staff and collect/report data to improve processes.
