Responsibilities

  • Counsel students and families regarding financial aid eligibility, application procedures, and available aid programs.
  • Review and process financial aid applications in compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies.
  • Utilize the PowerFAIDS system to manage student records, package aid, and generate reports.
  • Monitor student eligibility, satisfactory academic progress, and compliance with financial aid requirements.
  • Collaborate with admissions, registrar, and student accounts offices to support student enrollment and retention.
  • Assist with outreach activities such as orientations, financial aid workshops, and information sessions.

MCNY enrolls approximately 1,000 students annually into its accelerated degree programs with convenient onsite and remote schedules for added flexibility.Position SummaryThe Financial Aid Counselor is responsible for assisting students and their families in navigating the financial aid process, including applying for federal, state, and institutional aid. This position requires a strong understanding of financial aid regulations, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to provide accurate guidance on policies, procedures, and available funding options.This role requires interaction with students, families, and colleagues in both individual and group settings.
