Job summary

Covista is hiring a Student Finance Systems Programmer/Developer to deliver system, reporting and analytics solutions within the Information Technology department. The role acts as the liaison between business and technology, translating requirements into scalable applications and supporting finance-related systems in higher education.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Computer Science (or related field), 2+ years in IT/software development analysis, strong .NET/C# and VB.NET skills with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years IT/software development business analysis experience.
• SQL writing and GCP usage.
• Strong experience with .NET desktop applications (WinForms/WPF) in C# and VB.NET with SQL Server databases.
• Experience with higher education; experience with CRM tools (Salesforce.com, RightNow) and SDLC knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Acts as IT contact/interface to the business.
• Develops requirements and specifications for enhancements to existing applications.
• Participates in defining, developing, acquiring and implementing new software applications.
• Maintains a standard level of user documentation.
• Assists with the development of user acceptance test plans and certifies test results.
• Reviews proposed technology initiatives generated within the business units.
• Ensures that the business case for an initiative aligns with the division’s strategic plan and provides ROI documentation.
• Helps business operations utilize information systems to improve efficiency.
• Collaborates with external vendors and internal users in project execution and risk management.
• Manages competing deliverables to meet business commitments and reports status.
• Supports data and reporting initiatives; ensures data standards across units.
• Partners with developers to translate business requirements into scalable, user-friendly applications.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
