Job summary

Pima Medical Institute in Renton, WA is seeking a detailed-oriented Student Finance Officer to guide students through the financial aid process on-site at the Renton campus. You will interview prospective and continuing students, evaluate Title IV aid eligibility, and assist with financial aid documentation.

The role includes counseling veterans on VA benefits, processing awards, ensuring compliance, and coordinating with Admissions to reschedule appointments.

Qualifications

  • Customer focus & soft skills: Exceptional customer service and service recovery skills, strong verbal/written communication, and a friendly, helpful approach.
  • Organization & detail: Outstanding organizational abilities, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical skills: Basic computer proficiency and experience working with database systems.
  • Experience: Three (3) years of financial aid experience—including knowledge of Title IV funding is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of training, education, or relevant experience meeting minimum qualifications will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Aid Advising: Interview prospective and continuing students to conduct needs assessments, determine financial aid eligibility, and answer funding inquiries.

  • File Compliance & Auditing: Audit prospective and current student files to ensure complete, compliant documentation, Title IV verification, and proof of eligibility before class starts.
  • Payment Plans & Collections: Document institutional financial plans, establish private pay repayment schedules for students with account balances, and contact former students to settle outstanding accounts.
  • Departmental Collaboration: Track award packaging and funding release dates in the system; coordinate closely with Admissions staff to reschedule missed financial aid appointments.

Position Summary

Guide students through the financial aid process and help make their career education achievable! Pima Medical Institute is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-service-driven Student Finance Officer to join our Renton campus team.

In this vital role, you will interview prospective and continuing students, evaluate Title IV aid eligibility, assist with financial aid documentation, and counsel veteran students on VA benefits. Key Responsibilities
