Job summary

Seattle University seeks a One Stop Services Counselor to provide on-site assistance for Financial Aid and Student Account inquiries. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Student Contact and Communication, you will counsel students and families, explain FAFSA, aid packages, loans, verification, and appeals, and assist with billing, holds, and 1098-T.

The role emphasizes customer service and cross-department collaboration.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree + a minimum of two years of experience in a Financial Aid/Student Accounts office or equivalent.
Demonstrated commitment to strong customer service and the ability to resolve wide-ranging complex problems through creative reasoning.
Ability to counsel individuals and families in financial aid and student accounts matters and work independently and with others.
Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office is required.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary contact for students, families, and prospective students on Financial Aid and Student Account questions.
Explain FAFSA and aid packages, eligibility, and loans; assist with verification and special circumstance appeals.
Provide information about scholarships and grants and assist with payments, billing, 1098-T, holds, and refunds.
Assist with online services, MySeattleU, FAFSA, and studentaid.gov; support students’ financial planning.
