Job summary

Augsburg University is seeking a part-time Student: Film & Media Technical Assistant (2026-27). You will assist in managing and using film and new media equipment for multiple programs, responding to faculty and student needs and following established protocols.

Responsibilities include checking out/in equipment, ensuring proper care, monitoring editing suites, and providing technical help. Some evenings/weekends; must be enrolled and work-study eligible. Resume required.

Qualifications

Enrolled as a student at Augsburg University and be work-study eligible.
Working knowledge of film cameras, video cameras, DSLR cameras, audio gear, lighting, computers, and Premiere Pro.
Highly responsible, detail oriented, and self-motivated.
Ability to follow established protocol.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work independently.
Some evenings and weekend hours are expected.

Responsibilities

Assist in the management, maintenance, and use of film and new media equipment.
Support the film program, the new media program, and the graphic design program; respond to faculty and student needs.
Check out and check in film, new media, and design equipment.
Ensure proper use and care of equipment during class and out of class.
Monitor the editing suites.
Provide technical assistance to equipment users when possible.
Work on special projects.
