Job summary

Northwest University's College Of Business is seeking an Event Assistant, a student worker role to gain hands-on experience in event management and conference services on campus. You will gain practical exposure to hospitality, client interaction, event coordination, and administrative tasks for NU-hosted events.

You'll assist with event setup/teardown, serve as host and primary contact, and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student at Northwest University.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Be detail oriented: thorough and accurate.
• Computer experience with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Willing to work with a flexible schedule.
• Self-initiating abilities preferred.
• Maintain a safe work environment; respect confidentiality.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and guests.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds and work outdoors in variable weather.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating events and conference logistics with customers via phone, text, email, and campus tours.
• Assist with setup and teardown for events and conferences on and off campus.
• Serve as event host and point-of-contact during conferences and events.
• Perform other office administrative duties as needed.
• Support details for institutional events such as Homecoming, Family Weekend, and others.
