Job summary

Wilmington University is seeking an Engagement Counselor (PT) to provide student-centered advising and support for enrollment and retention initiatives. The role emphasizes proactive outreach, problem solving, and collaboration with key campus partners.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience, strong MS Word/Excel skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; minimum two years of relevant service experience.
• Experience in delivering student and enrollment services; familiarity with Ellucian preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills; effective written and oral communication; public speaking ability.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries from students, faculty and staff via phone, text, and email.
• Schedule Academic Advising appointments for educational planning.
• Advise on degree requirements, course selection, prerequisites and academic progress.
• Assist students with issues and concerns, escalating when necessary.
• Provide guidance on academic records, registration, and related processes; ensure accuracy in data entry.
