Job summary

Central Ohio Technical College is seeking a Student Employee FWS for VA Admin/Support Services in Newark. You will assist current student veterans, answer inquiries, and help with outreach, admissions follow-up, and campus activities.

You will coordinate veteran-focused programs and events, maintain calendars and spaces, and collaborate with the VA Certifying Official, Student Life, Admissions, and community partners to promote student success. Hours vary and the position is part-time.

  • Work independently, follow directions, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service and support to current and prospective student veterans, military-connected students, and community members by assisting with outreach, admissions follow-up, and student engagement initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support veteran-focused programs, events, and workshops by assisting with planning, setup, inventory management, and maintaining the student veteran calendar and lounge.
  • Conduct outbound communications to applicants and current students regarding admissions, appointments, campus events, and next steps.
  • Collaborate with campus partners, including the Veteran Mentor, VA Certifying Official, Student Life, and Admissions, to promote student success, while developing relationships with local businesses and community organizations to strengthen outreach and engagement efforts.

Summary of Duties:

Student employment provides students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience while supporting campus programs and services.

In this position, students will:
