Job summary

Central Ohio Technical College is seeking a Student Employee Tutor to provide academic support through individual and small-group tutoring in assigned subject areas. Under the guidance of Student Success Center staff, you will help students strengthen understanding of concepts, develop study strategies, and gain confidence for academic success.

Beyond tutoring, you will assist with daily operations of the Student Success Center, orient new tutors and tutees, promote tutoring services, and refer

Qualifications

• Must be in good academic standing.
• Must obtain a faculty recommendation for the subject area to be tutored.
• Must have successfully completed Composition I and Composition II with a grade of A- or higher.
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have successfully completed College Algebra, Statistics, or the equivalent course(s) with a grade of B or higher.
• Demonstrated strong mathematical knowledge and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly, accurately, and effectively.
• Must successfully complete a mathematics skills assessment by the end of the first semester of employment.
• Must have earned a grade of B or higher in each course to be tutored.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the subject area.

• The Student Employee Tutor provides academic support to students by offering individual and small-group tutoring in assigned subject areas.
