Overview

Advancement at Auburn University is excited to begin the search for a Student Employee to provide support for the Building Operations department at the Auburn Alumni Center.

This position supports the day-to-day functions of facility operations and event services. It assists with event setup and support, basic building maintenance tasks, and front desk operations to help ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all visitors.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown; including arranging tables, chairs, equipment, and signage according to event specifications
  • Provide on-site event support to ensure smooth execution, including troubleshooting basic issues and responding to staff or guest needs
  • Support building maintenance operations by performing light cleaning, reporting maintenance concerns, and assisting with minor upkeep tasks
  • Staff the reception desk by greeting visitors, answering questions, directing traffic, and providing general information
  • Monitor facility spaces to ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to policies
  • Assist with inventory, supply restocking, and equipment organization
  • Follow all safety procedures and report hazards or incidents promptly
Qualifications
  • Enrolled student at Auburn University, in good academic standing

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous customer service or event support experience
  • Ability to perform light physical work (lifting, moving furniture, standing for extended periods)

Working Conditions:

  • May require evening and weekend availability based on event schedules
  • Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs and perform physical tasks related to event setup
