Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks an experienced data administrator to manage student information systems, ensure accurate records, and generate standard and confidential reports for administrators and the NC Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI).

You will handle attendance, demographics, scheduling, and end-of-year data, while training staff and ensuring compliance with district policies and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a relevant field and two years’ experience with computer systems.
• Equivalent education/experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the student information system expert, producing standard, custom, and confidential reports for administrators and NCDPI.
• Prepares and maintains computerized records of student attendance.
• Prepares attendance reports and reconciles monthly reports.
• Maintains student demographic, scheduling, grading, and medical records.
• Prepares SIS data for beginning and end of year, including promotions and retentions.
• Maintains files and reports for exceptional children served by the SIS.
• Reviews information for UERS reporting areas.
• Keeps data storage of student records for up to 5 years.
• Provides training to school staff on SIS usage and data applications.
• Coordinates SIS user security with district personnel.
• Attends workshops/webinars to stay current with SIS.
• Keeps up to date on NC School Attendance and Student Accounting procedures.
• Assists in building the master schedule and related tasks/reports.
• Aids parents with enrollment procedures and school policies.
