Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks a detail-focused data specialist to manage student information with accuracy. You will analyze data for eligibility, compile reports for administrators and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, and support data requests from staff.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, data systems, and confidentiality is required. Responsibilities include maintaining and distributing student records, preparing end-of-year data, and training staff on SIS

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a relevant field.
• Two years of experience directly relating to computer systems which require knowledge of editing and completing source data.
• An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the student information system expert for the school by selecting, summarizing, analyzing, and reviewing data for accuracy to produce standard, custom and confidential reports for administrators and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI).
• Performs other data-related tasks including: prepares/maintains computerized records of student attendance; prepares attendance reports; reconciles and maintains reports monthly; provides files for school accountability (ABCs); maintains student demographic, scheduling, grading, and medical records; prepares SIS data for year transitions; handles UERS reporting areas; maintains data storage for up to 5 years; provides information/training to staff on SIS usage; coordinates user security; attends workshops/webinars; stays updated on North Carolina procedures; collaborates on master schedule; assists with enrollment procedures.
